    Why was Emaan Archives created?

The SWANA region has a great wealth of technological developments, inventions and creations but not enough of it has been catalogued and archived. Emaan Archives hopes to provide collect as much information as possible from the SWANA techology sector and share it with the world.

What does SWANA mean and why use it instead of MENA?

SWANA stands for South West Asia and North Africa. This abreviation has been gaining traction because it allows people to distance themselves from the colonial term Middle East and, in turn, allows us to speak about our culture on our own terms.

Why is some of the content on this site not strictly from the SWANA region?

Sometimes there are valuable pieces of technology or software that falls outside the SWANA umbrella. Emaan Archives believes that these should also be archived for future generations.
